Charitable Gaming (cGaming) is a partnership initiative between OLG, private sector operators, municipalities and charitable organizations in Ontario. It aims to provide stable, consistent and direct fundraising opportunities for organizations that support programs and services in communities across the province.
Organizations that are interested in participating in this initiative must apply for eligibility to a local municipality that is currently participating in the OLG cGaming initiative. In order to qualify, an organization must have charitable purposes that support individuals in Ontario. Eligibility is reviewed and approved at the discretion of the municipal authority.
Once approved, organizations are scheduled to participate with their local Charitable Gaming Association. Individuals volunteer their time in a local Charitable Gaming Centre – a unique entertainment facility offering a mix of paper and electronic bingo, electronic lottery games, and food and beverage options. Volunteers support guests in these fun and energetic gaming centres while showcasing the important work they do to support their communities.
Participating organizations receive fundraising dollars monthly based on the volunteer time contributed. Organizations are permitted to utilize their funds for approved purposes that support programs and services for Ontario residents. Each month, organizations report their use of proceeds to their Municipality.
